About Mid-America Instrument repair:
Mid-America is a full service repair and restoration center. We accept and repair all brands, types and styles of stringed instruments. No repair is too small or large, and no instrument is beyond repair. All repairs from minor adjustments to major overhauls such as new instrument tops, complete refinishing, new necks are all welcome. We treat all instruments with great care and attention and turn jobs around in the most timely manner allowed.

A Short Bio:
Formal training, Roberto Venn - Awarded Certificate of Luthiery. Learned fundamentals of instrument repair, design, and construction.

Continuing education and employment with Luthier Don Gallagher of Gallagher Guitars, Wartrace, TN. Randy's 3½ year tenure included being  responsible for various guitar manufacturing details and was responsible for all repairs and restorations during time at Gallagher Guitars.

Continuing education and employment with First Quality Musical Supplies Louisville, KY. Randy worked 4 years side by side with Founder Bill Sullivan & Sons, as Lead Luthier, duties included all major repairs and restorations, constructed all tenor to 5 string banjo neck conversions. Included in his duties were fretting, binding, shaping, finishing and final assembly of all Sullivan banjos numbers 1 through 75.

Continuing development with a limited number of custom made instruments and repairs in private shop now known as Mid-America Instrument Repair.

I have also had the privilege in my time since Roberto Venn to work with Luthiers, Tim Dennison, Richard Starky, William Brooks, and the entire cast of the Taylor Guitar Repair Department just to name a few.
